Books to recommend:
Take charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler, MPH
This book was amazing! I learned SO much about my body and the menstrual cycle in general. Why are women not given the education they truly deserve on their bodies!? We are thrown into our cycles as young women, with no explanation about the different phases, hormones, secretions, pains, symptoms, and complexities of being a woman. I found this book super empowering and informative in taking control of my fertility and still refer to it regularly as it relates to my own hormone health!
Toni also has her own website (link above) and partners with Fairhavenhealth.com with a great fertility app to chart your cycle (ovagraph), also listed with other fertility apps.
It starts with an Egg by Rebecca Fett:
This book can make you a bit nutty, but is full of great information that can help you make educated choices during your trying to conceive journey. I will be honest after I first read this, I would stare at my “BPA-free” plastic bottle that I was reusing every day and blame it as the reason I wasn’t pregnant. The information you read is pertinent, but the best way to not drive yourself crazy is to do the best you can, bit by bit. Once I was able to digest the information, I threw out my reusable plastic bottle, replaced it with a glass bottle (and then eventually stainless steel because I ended up breaking 3 or 4 glass ones!), and started to tackle detoxing from endocrine disrupters little by little.
** Also please note that the website ewg.org (listed on this page) is an EXCELLENT site to help you reduce your toxic exposure and make small changes one step at a time if that is something you would like to do.
